This summer I'm coaching the summer tournament team for our high school varsity basketball program. This means a lot of time away from home on weekends at tournaments and once-a-week practices on Tuesdays that keep me from playing. Combine that with having to find a way to work too, and that doesn't leave much time for poker. Lately I've been on a minirun, 3 final tables in tournaments with 600+ entrants in the last 7 days and a few more cashes on top of that, so I would really like to play but tournaments are going to be few and far between.
So I guess I'll do the next best thing: buy pieces in everyone I know and live vicariously through them. Then if I decide to play a tournament, I'll offer myself up to the people I bought pieces of. So if you are going to be playing in the MSOP, I want a piece of you and if I don't happen to notice, just drop me a comment and I'll take a piece.
First event I could play in is the $16.50 Omaha8. I'm going to a wedding this weekend in Chicago (a 4 hour drive) but should be back in time Sunday night to play it.

Well I made it through 2 hours solid but the third hour I was done in by The Omaholic. I was short and in blind versus blind situations he was either shoving or folding with his big stack. So finally I got pocket tens in the big blind, it folded around, and he shoved. I called and he showed K8o. 8 on the flop, King on the turn, King on the river for good measure, and I was out in the 3400s.
Tom Bayes and mickdog did much better than I, both cashing and picking up more than my single bounty, so I made a little money through swaps. I feel pretty good despite the noncash. I may play a few MSOP events and this makes me feel more inclined to. I'll do better next time and make a big cash here soon.

So I've got a Step 3 $26 ticket hanging around my account (and a $1 Main Event Sat ticket too) that I've been waiting to use, and I think today might be the day. I'm considering playing the $26 KO Superstack 6-Max MiniFTOPS event today at 1 PM ET. Any interest in buying pieces of me in the FTOPS event?

Chapter One was Snakes On A Plane featuring the immortal Samuel L. Jackson.
And now we have number two of the movies that I care about.
HOT TUB TIME MACHINE
I'll probably see this. Sounds like a good time waster.

I was looking at the SXSW page to take aa look at how much badges and shit were, and decided to take a look at SXSW Film. I've never looked at it before and was just interested in seeing what all was going on there.
I gotta say, if I were able to make it to SXSW, I would make serious consideration as to going to Film as well as Music, because there was a lot of stuff I was really interested in. I probably counted 5 or 6 films every day I'd like to see. All different kinds of films and documentaries too. There was just so much good stuff. It's too bad I neither have the time or the money to make it this year. But in the future, when I have more time and money, hopefully I can do that at least once in my life.
This is my first post since December 09 and second since June 09. Those of you who didn't drop me off the friends list, I appreciate it.

Hey, I won a seat in the super turbo sat they ran, and am looking for interest in selling pieces. If anyone is interested you've got 20 minutes to reply here or hit me on AIM. If I don't get much interest I may just take the T$.

My MSOP experience is over and really has been for 2 weeks now. Played 14 of 31 possible events, had 4 cashes, before I decided I just didn't feel like playing anymore. I just have no drive to play poker right now, and rather than force it and not play my best, I just shut it down. Even though I had 4 cashes, I'm still a little disappointed in my play in non-NLH events. My no limit game has taken a jump lately, and my other games have taken a hit because of it. I finished in the top 30% of the field 10 times, and I just wish I had made that push from there into the money a few more times.
The numbers straight up look like this: 5% = $14.03 in buyins and $6.88 back in cashes, for a net loss of $7.14. Karl - that's what you owe. But I owe more than that to Andrew so just pay him the $7.14. Andrew - I have it as owing you $9.91 (3.03 in buyins, and 6.88 cashes). Minus Karl, I owe you $2.77. Mickdog - Yours is basically the same as Karl's minus the one event you played ($0.26 in buyin). So I've got yours as you owing $6.87. Tom - I've got me owing you 13.43 in buyins but getting back 18.06 in cashes for getting $4.64 (unless you're playing the MSOP Main).
If any of these numbers look wrong, leave a comment or get a hold of me on IM.
